Overview
Position Summary:
Mistras Canada Inc. is seeking IRATA Journeyman Welders to support our project in Fort McMurray, Alberta.
Key Accountabilities Include:
Responsible for welding maintenance of piping systems using IRATA certified rope access abilities
Maintain a safe, secure, and healthy environment by adhering to Company/Customer safety standards and practices and to legal regulations, and by alerting others regarding potential hazards or concerns
Perform all duties as assigned and adheres to MISTRAS’ Core Values
Technicians will be required to maneuver within a refinery or plant environment to include the ability to gain access to elevated platforms via ladders and stairwells
Other related duties as required
Candidates will need to submit vaccination status and proof as a client site access requirement
Physical Job Demand:
Ability to lift and carry up to 55 pounds
Qualifications, Experience and Skills:
Journeyman Welder in Alberta, or a Red Seal Certificate
CWB and / or SMAW is required
Maintain or obtain certificate in the welding position/type demanded
IRATA Rope Access Certification is required
Confined Space is mandatory
Experience with welding in plants an asset
Various Client Safety Orientations are be mandatory and accessible online to complete
Ability to work with computers / computerized equipment
Ability to read, understand, and communicate in English
Travel requirement to work on site
Ability to follow instructions
Ability to maintain focus and multitask effectively
Candidates will need to submit a valid driver’s license, 3 year driving abstract and pass a pre-access drug and alcohol test before going to site
Candidates will need to submit vaccination status and proof as a client site access requirement
