Overview
Key Responsibilities:
Areas of specialization: shipbuilding, structural metal or steel, plate work, pressure vessel
Measure, cut, grind, fit, align, and tack weld parts
Layout of reference points and patterns
Assemble and fit plates and sections to form structures
Install interior structures, hatches, doors, bulkheads, etc. to complete all of the steel work in the ship
Layout construct patterns and templates
Read, interpret, plan, and execute from drawings, blueprints, and procedures
Requirements:
Able to lift a weight up to fifty pounds (50 lbs)
You must be eligible to work in Canada to apply for this job
A pre-employment Government Security Clearance/Background and Credit check will need to be completed
Full PPE + Fit Tested Respirator Mask.
Qualifications:
Shipbuilding experience is an asset
Completion of vocational, technical and/or equivalent training or 5+ years of related experience
CWB Certification
Metal fabrication trade certification, or equivalent, is preferred
Pipefitting and Ironworking experience considered an asset

HSE Orientation
ISI Medium Voltage Cable Training
ISI Lockout Tag Training
ISI Security Orientation (In Person)
Must be able to commute to work daily.
