JCK Limited is looking to enhance our installation division for our Canadian office located in Burlington, ON.

We are looking for millwrights and Iron Workers who can work above the height of 150 feet!

RESPONSIBILITIES / DUTIES OF MILLWRIGHT:

– Able to takedown existing cells and crate for transportation purposes.

– Knowledge of rigging requirements to load, and off-load skids, control panels, and palletized crates used for tooling and cables.

– Able to read installation drawings, use basic tools such as power drills, socket wrenches, screw drivers, etc.

– Knowledge of set up procedures for robotic, tooling equipment, and conveyors.

– Experience in the use of laser levels, bolt torquing, and precision set up of robots and interface tooling.

– Experienced with the installation of cable trays, and cables.

– Must be able to travel to various customer sites to support the installation efforts.

– Work with the site management team to correct/improve any potential issues arising during the installation efforts.

QUALIFICATION REQUIREMENTS:

· Must have at a minimum 3-5 years’ experience in the rigging and installation of tooling and/or robotic cells.

· Certified journeyman millwright a definite asset.

· An apprentice millwright with appropriate experience will be considered.

· Must have at a minimum the following certifications:

– WHIMIS

– Working at Heights

– 4 Step Awareness

We are looking for Ironworkers to join our team in Scarborough!

JCK is looking to grow its installation team as the company expands to serve clients across Canada.

This role will provide you with the opportunity to work for a growing organization and be a meaningful part of the installation team that is building conveyors for internationally recognized companies. Successful applicants will also have the chance to receive relevant, transferrable training specific to the role.

POSITION SUMMARY

Responsible for the layout, installation, assembly and steel erection components in accordance with blueprint plans, specifications, codes, and industry standards.

RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Reads specifications or blueprints to determine the locations, quantities, or sizes of material required.
  • Installation of metal parts, such as steel frames, columns, beams, or girders, according to blueprints or instructions from supervisors.
  • Unloads and positions prefabricated steel units for hoisting; hoists steel beams, girders, or columns into place, using cranes or signaling hoisting equipment operators to lift and position structural steel members.
  • Verifies vertical and horizontal alignment of structural steel members, using plumb bobs, laser equipment, transits, or levels.
  • Cuts, bends, or welds steel pieces, using metal shears, torches, or welding equipment.
  • Forces structural steel members into final positions, using turnbuckles, crowbars, jacks, or hand tools.
  • Pulls, pushes or pries structural steel members into approximate positions for bolting into place.
  • Bolts aligned structural-steel members in position for permanent riveting, bolting, or welding into place.
  • Assemble hoisting equipment or riggings, such as cables, pulleys, or hooks, to move heavy equipment or materials.
  • Estimating sizes, distances, and quantities; or determining time, costs, resources, or materials needed to perform a work activity.
  • Inspect subordinate’s work for compliance with the contract plans and specifications, point out deficiencies and explain and take any corrective action needed.

JOB REQUIREMENTS

  • Experience in conveyors (required).
  • Knows how to read prints.
  • Knows how to do layout.
  • Experience in placing equipment in center line.
  • Lifts heavy weights.
  • Strong mechanical tools knowledge.
  • Line and level conveyors.
  • Experience in using lifting equipment.
  • Experience in working at heights.
  • Experience in installing air piping preferred (knowledge and ability to sweat copper pipe, etc.) is a plus.
  • Experience lacing conveyor belts a plus.
  • Sorters experience.

Required License and Certification:

  • Journeyman/Journeywoman Certificate

Additional Requirements

  • Valid driver’s license.
  • Provide own transportation to and from job site.
