AECOM is currently hiring Ironworker Journeyman to join the Shell Scotford project team in Fort Saskatchewan, Alberta.

There is various shift rotation and duration. Tentative start date in Early-February 2021.

Local Candidates ONLY as NO Living Out Allowance (LOA) or NO Camp/Travel (FIFO) option available for this project.

Ironworkers fabricate, construct and join scaffolding, structural steel buildings, bridges, ornamental ironwork and pre-cast structures. They erect structural steel components, reinforce steel, post tension tendons, install conveyors and robotic equipment, and sometimes perform reconstructive work on existing structures.

Ironworker Journeyman will be expected to do but are not limited to the following tasks:

+ Read blueprints and specifications to lay out the work

+ Unload and stack steel units so each piece can be hoisted as needed

+ Erect and install scaffolding, construction cranes, derricks and other hoisting equipment

+ Assemble rigging (cables, pulleys, hooks) to move heavy equipment and materials

+ Attach cables from a crane or derrick and direct crane operators with hand signals or radios

+ Position steel units, align holes and insert temporary bolts

+ Check the alignments and join steel parts by bolting or tack welding them with an electric arc process

+ Assemble and erect prefabricated metal structures

+ Select, cut, bend, position, and secure steel bars or wire mesh in concrete forms to reinforce the concrete

+ Install ornamental and other structural metalwork such as curtain walls, metal stairways, railings and power doors

+ Unload and install pre-cast components

_Conditions of Employment for this position are: _

1. For positions that fall into the list of required positions within the AECOM Oil & Gas Background Check policy, qualified applicants who are offered, and accept, the role must complete a satisfactory pre-employment Background Check. This may consist of all or a combination of the following: Canadian Criminal Record check, an Employment Verification and/or an Education and Accreditation Verification.

2. For positions that fall into the list of required positions within the AECOM Oil & Gas Alcohol & Drug (A&D) policy, qualified applicants who are offered, and accept, a position must provide evidence of a satisfactory Alcohol & Drug test in accordance with the Company’s Alcohol & Drug Policy. In order to be valid, the test must have been conducted at the direction of AECOM – O&G Business Unit.

Minimum Requirements

+ Journeyman Certification

+ Construction Safety Training Systems (CSTS-09 or 2020) Certification

+ Fall Protection

+ CSE (Confined Space Entry)

+ Elevated Work Platform

+ Overheard Crane & Rigging

+ Valid Government Issued Identification

+ Able to travel to site daily.

+ Able to work day or night shift.

Preferred Qualifications

+ H2S Alive

+ Firewatch

+ Red Seal preferred or required by provincial regulations and standards.
