Jardeg is recruiting Ironworker Journeypersons and Ironworker Apprentices for Future Opportunities with the CNRL Albian project team on site north of Fort McMurray, Alberta.
Line up your outage and shutdown work for 2023, now. We have outages starting as early as January and our scheduled turnaround event at Jack Pine Mine and Muskeg River Mine in the Ore Prep, Extraction and Froth areas is anticipated to one of the largest events to date at 75 days, we have the scope of work to maximize your turnaround season.
Shift schedules will be on a 24/4 or 6/1 rotation, 12 hours per day with daily overtime.
A competitive travel allowance will be provided to any worker from out of Province, and charter flights are provided from Calgary/Edmonton to site! While working on site, workers will be staying at the Albian Village Camp which will provide hot meals, lodging, workout facility, Wi-Fi, commissary and much more!
Ironworkers fabricate, construct and join scaffolding, structural steel buildings, bridges, ornamental ironwork and pre-cast structures. They erect structural steel components, reinforce steel, post tension tendons, install conveyors and robotic equipment, and sometimes perform reconstructive work on existing structures.
An Ironworker will be expected to do but are not limited to the following tasks:
Read blueprints and specifications to lay out the work
Unload and stack steel units so each piece can be hoisted as needed
Erect and install scaffolding, construction cranes, derricks and other hoisting equipment
Assemble rigging (cables, pulleys, hooks) to move heavy equipment and materials
Attach cables from a crane or derrick and direct crane operators with hand signals or radios
Position steel units, align holes and insert temporary bolts
Check the alignments and join steel parts by bolting or tack welding them with an electric arc process
Assemble and erect pre-fabricated metal structures
Select, cut, bend, position, and secure steel bars or wire mesh in concrete forms to reinforce the concrete
Install ornamental and other structural metalwork such as curtain walls, metal stairways, railings and power doors
Unload and install pre-cast components
Position Qualifications:
Certified Journeyperson and/or holds a valid recognized credential OR active Ironworker Apprenticeship in good standing
Common Safety Orientation (CSO) or CSTS-09
Energy Safety Canada Certified Confined Space Entry
Energy Safety Canada Certified Fall Arrest and/or Fall Protection
Basic Rigging Certification
Aerial Work Platform (AWP)
Valid Government Issued Identification
