Overview

SUMMARY:
Assists welders in the following areas:
Welds materials using a variety of processes – primarily FCAW and GMAW

REQUIRED COMPETENCIES (Essential duties and responsibilities):

Assists Welders in the following areas:
Produces quality welds as specified in work order.

Follows welding procedures and directions of supervisor.

Uses basic welder’s tools and equipment.

Operates forklift and other material handling equipment to move materials and manipulate workpiece.

Performs general daily maintenance tasks and checks of welding equipment

Cleans and maintains orderly work area.

Follows company safety & security guidelines.

Previous experience is not a requirement.

On the job training to be provided, as needed, including:
Shop math

Blueprint reading

Use of barcode and computer equipment to record production operations

PHYSICAL DEMANDS:

The employee is required to stand while performing the duties of this job (approx. 40%), walk (20%), and sit (40%).

Requires good hand-eye coordination in order to produce quality welds.

The employee is expected to lift or move materials (30%) weighing up to 30 lbs.
