Overview

GCI is seeking a dependable, safety conscious, pipefitter or welder with pipefitting experience, to join our industrial electrical and fabrication team at our Rocky View County shop location. The Pipefitter/Welders responsibilities will include non-structural mig welding, pipefitting, assisting in general construction duties and metal fabrication, assisting electricians and instrumentation techs with industrial electrical and IA tasks, and housekeeping of work areas. Candidate must be proficient in the use of power and hand tools, as well as mechanically inclined and be able to provide assistance across a number of areas in the electrical, metal fabrication, and construction industries.

Responsibilities:

· Mig Welding

-Pipefitting

-Moving materials and ensuring all tools, machinery, & other equipment are safely set up

· Confident and efficient in the operating of hand tools and power tools

· Assisting with various electrical and construction installation procedures

· Obeying health and safety codes, as well as GCI’s HSE & HR policies and procedures

· Removing hazardous materials from sites

· Performing site and equipment inspections

· Attending Toolbox and Safety meetings

· Completing on-the-job training

· Ensuring tasks are completed to deadlines

· Assist electricians & instrumentation techs

· Housekeeping of work area

Necessary Requirements:

· Welding and Pipefitting experience

-Jman an asset but not required

· Must have own hand and power tools

· Steel-toed lace up 6” CSA work boots

· Valid Generic Whmis (issued within the last 3 years, not company specific), CSTS, First Aid

· Fork Lift certification an asset

· Punctual, dependable, and hard working

· Ability to lift up to 50 lbs safely

· Class 5 driver’s license and reliable transportation to and from work

· Mechanically inclined with sound knowledge of construction and practical experience with tools

· Experience in metal fabrication

· Excellent time management, organizational, and communication skills

· A good understanding of safety procedures

· Great hand, eye, and foot coordination

· Willingness to learn and be flexible

· Positive attitude and great interpersonal skills

· Ability to take instruction from supervisors and be adaptable to changes with in your day to day tasks

Job type: Full-time, permanent, based upon an initial 3 month probationary period

8 hour days with possibility of occasional over time

Job Types: Full-time, Permanent

Salary: $20.00-$38.00 per hour
