Description:
Idea 64 Projects is a fast-paced and growing, family owned fabrication shop in Salmon Arm, BC. We work extensively with the log and timber frame industry producing structural brackets, components and architectural steel. Our shop is focused on precise, extremely high quality and top notch fabrication. We are looking to add a detail orientated Journeyman fitter/fabricator to our team. The ideal candidate would have at least 5 years fitting and fabricating at a high level and be passionate about producing high quality work. We are looking for a team leader who is able to work independently and can work well with other welders and welding apprentices.

Qualifications:

– Must be local, able to come to shop and perform a weld test, and have reliable transportation.

– Welding tickets; CWB, solid wire, GMAW, MCAW an asset but not required. Aluminum TIG welding experience an asset.

– Must be extremely detail orientated and able to fit and weld at a high level.

– Must be able to independently understand and interpret blueprints and shop drawings.

– Some mathematics required, must have a good understanding of weights and measures.

– Must be able to be a team leader and work well with other welders and welding apprentices.

– Must be safety orientated.

– Must be physically fit and able to lift 80 lbs comfortably.

– Able to travel out of town for work and be willing to work overtime when required.

– 40 hour work week, Monday to Friday with the occasional weekend if required.

– Forklift ticket an asset, Level 1 first aid an asset, Arial lift ticket an asset.

– Must have steel toed work boots and appropriate welding work wear including own welding helmet.

Job Type: Full-time

Salary: $30.00-$40.00 per hour

Schedule:

  • 10 hour shift
  • 8 hour shift
  • Monday to Friday
  • Overtime
