Dapp Power is a green energy power plant seeking a casual Journeyman/woman Millwright (Industrial Mechanic) to support our Maintenance team during emergencies, planned and unplanned outages, vacations and projects. Major equipment includes a superheated B&W steam boiler, multistage Turbodyne steam generator, GE electric generator, substation and approximately 13 KM of high voltage transmission lines.

Core competencies need for this position are;

  • Red Seal Journeyman/woman Millwright-Welder
  • Able to use all equipment and machinery related to the trade requirements
  • Understands and reads all schematics and drawings associated with the trade
  • Rebuilds, repairs and improves all machinery and equipment with minimal supervision, With a major emphasis on chain – belt and screw conveyor, air compressor, electric motor, bearing system, fans, hydraulic and pneumatic system, pumps, electric components
  • Troubleshoots active and new machinery and equipment without supervision
  • Interact with maintenance employees to exchange technical information, to facilitate teamwork in troubleshooting and repair process
  • Has good interpersonal and communication skills and is results oriented
  • Committed to continuous improvement on machinery, equipment and processes
  • Meets schedules set by Maintenance Planner
  • Minimum five years’ experience as a Red seal Millwright in an industrial environment, preferably Biomass Power Generation
  • Complete all check sheets and records as it relates to the P.M. program, Work Orders, etc.
  • Maintain and take ownership in work order and preventive/predictive maintenance system by filling in the required forms
  • Maintain a safe and clean work area at all times
  • Dual ticket is considered an asset
  • There will be times when the incumbent will be required to work during inclement weather or non-conventional hours. Some tasks will be physically demanding and require lifting of up to 25 kg
  • Fluent verbal and written English language ability
  • Able to work in extreme temperatures, in dusty and noisy conditions, while wearing safety equipment.
  • Valid Class 5 Driver’s License

Salary: $36.00-$44.00 per hour
