What to expect:
As a Lab Technician, you are responsible for laboratory services for the CWB Group. This includes:
Performing and processing bends (log/count/test/process/report including as applicable in CWB electronic and paper systems)
Process x-rays/PQRs (Log/count/ship/process results)
Process Fracture and Macro evaluations (log/count/test/process/report including as applicable in CWB electronic and paper systems)
Shipping and Receiving
Ensure verification of the accuracy of client’s test plate/PQT shipment received and the availability of the CWB Form 624
General housekeeping of the Milton lab and the AWTC
Processing test plate orders
Facilitate the weekly shipment to outside laboratory
Log/process results for all PQRs outside the Ontario region
Order supplies for the Lab/Facility etc.
In this position, you will report to the Manager, Operational Support and Execution.
What you bring to the table:
2-5 years welding, or metal industry, or testing service-related experience
General Machining, Tool and measuring equipment use
Practical welding and/or material and process knowledge
Shipping and Receiving experience
Ontario Occupation Health & Safety Act and Industrial Reg. 851 knowledge
Forklift license
Working knowledge of Microsoft Office and a minimum knowledge of Excel
Excellent verbal communication skills
Ability to pay attention to detail and ensure high accuracy of work
Ability to work within scheduled timeframes and set priorities to ensure deadlines are met
Interpersonal Skills and ability to work with a team
Ability to work with minimal supervision
Working knowledge of Microsoft Office and a minimum knowledge of Excel
Full Vaccination against Covid-19 or an accepted medical or human right exception is required as a condition of employment with the CWB Group. Successful candidates in our hiring process will be required to produce supporting documentation at the time of offer.
The following qualifications are considered assets:
Post-Secondary Education in related field
Science/Engineering diploma, degree or courses and certificates related to duties
CWB Level 1 Inspector Certification
National qualification as specified in CGSB system or be trained and deemed competent to operate an X-ray system
