LABOURER, SHIPPING/ RECEIVING – STEEL FABRICATION SHOP, CALGARY AREA

DETAILS

Rotation: Monday – Friday

Shift: 6:30 am to 3:00 pm

DAY IN THE LIFE…

Based on order specifications, picks and packages products for shipment. Coordinates carrier pick-up; prepares packing slips, bills of lading and shipping labels.

Inspects incoming shipments to ensure accuracy; inspects for damaged goods. Unloads and receives parts, finished goods and returned goods.

Performs cycle counts and physical inventory counts.

Maintains forklift and other material handling devices in a safe and efficient manner.

Maintains files of receiving documents, material return slips and any WHMIS documents related to products or materials processed through the receiving area

Reports all non-conforming material to the department Supervisor.

EXPERIENCE REQUIREMENTS

Must possess a minimum of one year of relevant work experience in a similar role.

Experience with using and driving a forklift.

Experienced with proper rigging and overhead crane use is an asset

Possesses the ability to operate hand tools and power tools.

Must be reliable and dependable (i.e.: punctual and ready to work).

Excellent communication skills.

Must be able to take initiative, work independently as well as in a team.

Industrial construction experience is an asset.

TICKETS REQUIREMENTS

Must have CSA approved safety boots.

Forklift & Crane certification is an asset

WHMIS certified. A demonstrated ability to work safely.

Ability to lift up to 60lbs

Must possess and maintain a valid driver’s license.

Must have own transportation as location is not accessible with public transportation.
