Job Overview
Reporting to the Shop or Site Supervisor, you will perform a multitude of duties at the shop and on job sites, as outlined below. We provide an environment where professional growth is encouraged through welding training/practicing, CWB qualification, and Welder Apprenticeships.
Responsibilities and Duties
- Assisting welders/fitters
- Safe handling of material using a forklift and crane
- Grinding
- Drilling
- Shearing
- Punching
- Tack welding
- Saw cutting
- Sweeping
- Other duties as assigned
Additional Skills
- Able to effectively take direction and understand instructions
- Working knowledge of safety standards of equipment
- Able to work independently
- Able to work in a team environment
- Physically able to lift up to 75 pounds
Certifications and Equipment
- Working at heights certification would be an asset
- Steel-toed safety boots are mandatory
- Workplace Hazardous Materials Information System (WHMIS) Certificate
- Worker Health & Safety Awareness
