Reporting to the Welding Manager, this position will provide support to the department by assisting skilled trades people with a variety of general duties.

Responsibilities include, but are not limited to:
Performing general cleaning and shop work

Cleaning and prepping various service equipment and parts by steam cleaning and sandblasting as required

Painting service equipment and parts as required

Completing equipment inspection checks, and confirming parts shipping and receiving information

Assisting skilled trades people to complete department projects and mine shutdowns as required

Moving tools, equipment and other materials to and from work areas

Shuttling and retrieving service fleet vehicles to and from Branch and customer site

Assisting with welding duties such as grinding and preparing steel for fabrication

Fixing and maintaining welding machines

Qualifications:
The successful candidate will possess a High School Diploma with 1-2 years of industry related experience. Equivalent combinations of education and experience may be considered. Other requirements include, but are not limited to:

Excellent attention to detail and time management skills

Proven ability to adhere to and maintain workplace health and safety initiatives

Highly motivated and able to work in a fast paced environment

Effective oral and written communication skills

Strong focus on providing valuable customer service

Ability to work out of town on occasion

Valid Class 5 Driver’s License

Forklift training, WHMIS, and TDG training certification is an asset
