Job Overview

We are currently looking to add a Labourer, Welding Shop to our Fort McMurray team.

Reports to: Foreman, Welding Shop

Shift: 7×7, 12 hours per shift

Location: Fort McMurray, AB

Relocation: This position does not offer relocation

Key Job Responsibilities:

  • Learn equipment operation and help load/unload plasma table operation.
  • Mechanical assembly assistant. Dress dippers, doors, saddleblocks and other common mechanical tasks.
  • Track and manage inventory on consumables and usage.
  • Arrange and organize materials for jobs.
  • Show some skill with hand tools and assembly and/or fabrication skills.
  • Duties may include moving machinery, tools and products to correct shop locations using an overhead crane/ telehandler or forklift.
  • Duties in the manufacturing and or refurbishment process for general labor tasks.
  • Prepping components for shipping ie: strapping pallets, arrange with the warehouse to receive components for shipping.
  • Assist Journeymen welders, mechanics and machinists. Follow directions from peers and supervisors.
  • Strong focus on shop cleanliness and removing excess material/garbage’s daily
  • Other duties, as assigned

Qualifications/Requirements:

  • Completion of high school diploma
  • A minimum of two (2) years’ experience in a manufacturing and or refurbishment environment
  • Qualified candidates will have strong work ethic and mechanical ability
  • Able to lift up to 50lbs.
  • Welding/ grinding skills an asset.
  • Overhead crane experience an asset.
  • Previous related experience an asset.
  • Valid Driver’s License and own transportation are required.
  • OSSA, CSTS, Class C First Aid.
  • Must have a strong safety focus.
  • Progression to trades positions is possible with experience
