Midwest Fabricators Ltd. provides custom metal fabrication, laser and plasma cutting, and welding services for industrial, commercial, and residential applications. We are proud members of the Canadian Welding Bureau, Manufacturer’s Health and Safety Association, Edmonton Construction Association, and West Edmonton Business Association. The successful candidate for this job must have hands-on experience working in a custom fabrication shop and possess the qualifications listed below.
Responsibilities:
- Program and operate laser and plasma tables
- Must be able to effectively read and interpret blueprints/schematics to perform accurate set-ups
- Perform quality control on parts cut to ensure they meet drawing specs
- Organizing, labelling and getting parts ready to ship
- Responsible for personal safety and those around him/her. Maintains excellent housekeeping standards.
Knowledge/Skills:
- Experienced operator with a minimum of 2 years experience (Experience operating a Mazak Laser, Multicam Plasma, and Amada Laser tables is an asset)
- Knowledge of different grades and gauges of material
- Must be able to multitask and work in a fast-paced environment
- Excellent verbal and communication skills
- Must be able to work both individually and in a team environment
- Must be able to lift up to 50 pounds
