Structural Supervisor
SUMMARY:
The Structural Lead Hand must be detail orientated with a high level of fabrication aptitude relevant to Oil & Gas equipment processes. The successful candidate will work with the Production Leadership Team, Drafting/Engineering, and shop floor employees to coordinate efforts to meet production schedules, quality, and safety requirements
JOB DUTIES & RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • Promote Startec Core Values, vision and mission, Code of Ethics, policies and procedures, operating instructions, and standards, internally and externally, and oversee the adherence to the prescribed organizational values.
  • Participate in Safety, QC, and all other company programs
  • Maintain a safe work environment, complete job hazard assessments, lift assessments, and Safety walks, facilitate inspections and required maintenance, participate in weekly toolbox talks
  • Directs, mentors, and trains apprentices.
  • Engage with and build good positive working relationships with all stakeholders including but not limited to, Department Supervisors, Engineering, Design, Doc Control, QC, and Safety.
  • Work closely with your supervisor to manage and assign a day to day work to be completed
  • Participate in problem-solving, planning, and scheduling
  • Help prepare cross-over reports with the afternoon shift to ensure productivity
  • Collaborate with Supervisors, employees, and contractors to ensure efficient delivery of project schedules
  • Liaise with shipping & receiving, ensuring parts and materials are received, tracked, and ready in advance for installation
  • Attend production meetings, providing department updates as required

QUALIFICATIONS/REQUIREMENTS:

  • Journeyperson Certificate (Red Seal interprovincial preferred)
  • 6 years of Structural experience in a fabrication shop environment
  • Supervisory experience would be beneficial but not required
  • Collaborative team player with positive engagement
  • Good organizational and communication skills; both written and oral
  • Ability to read and interpret all red-line markups and blueprints (Isometrics, P&IDs, G.A.’s)
  • Lean/Continuous improvement experience would be beneficial but not required
