Overview
Eagle Bridge Ltd is the leading manufacturer of steel pedestrian bridges in Ontario and has been for over 60 years. We are looking for an enthusiastic and committed individual to assist our Welding Supervisor in leading our team of welders/fitters, to help oversee production and help ensure quality standards and schedules are being met.
Responsibilities include:
- Assist supervisor in the leading and training of shop welders/fitters
- Assume welding supervisor duties and responsibilities when supervisor is away
- Fabricate, fit and weld steel bridge components in a custom production environment
- Communicate with supervisor and managers regarding production progress and needs
- Ensure health and safety policies are adhered to
- Read and interpret shop drawings
- Oversee maintenance of equipment
- Experience setting up and operating heavy and light machinery including welding equipment, drills, saws, cutting torches, grinders, etc.
- Use of overhead cranes to hoist and set up materials on shop floor
- Forklift experience
- Verify conformance of work to specifications
Position Requirements:
- 7+ years experience working in a steel fabrication environment
- CWB certification
- CWB Welding Supervisor course an asset
- High level of organization and ability to take a critical approach to daily operations
- Ability to follow directions and communicate effectively
- Strong attention to detail and highly conscientious when performing tasks
- Proficient problem solving skills
- Ability to work safely and independently with minimum direction
- Supply of own small hand tools required
