Overview

  • High school diploma or equivalent.
  • Candidate needs to have experience and competency to be a working leader of the stainless steel welding/fabricating department.
  • Welder – 5 years minimum direct experience with stainless steel TIG welding, graduation from welding training program is a plus.
  • Candidate needs to be responsible for inventory of parts needed by the department and setup/maintain the department work schedule.
  • Candidate should have the ability to assist in hiring and training new operators hired into the department.
  • Proficiency in mid-level math skills: trigonometry, decimals, conversions, etc.
  • Proficient in reading blueprints and weld symbols.
  • Ability to fabricate weldments of all sizes with little or no help.
  • Must be able to lay out parts, de-burr parts, assemble components, and fabricate complex assemblies using blue prints, drawings, engineering, and quality requirements.
  • Must be able to follow directions from supervision operating in a cooperative effective manner.
  • Ability to work with tight tolerances.
  • Able to log in and log out of Shoptech production software.
  • Ability to read work instructions and safety rules, written or verbal, in English.
  • Ability to work in a team environment, develop constructive and cooperative working relationships, has a strong work ethic, good attendance record, beginning to show leadership skills, reliable and adaptive to change, able to solve problems, handles stress well, good at multi-tasking, and is quality oriented.
  • Maintain on-time deliveries for all jobs in production.
  • Do first piece and last piece inspection on parts produced, complete all Quality paperwork, maintain all Quality Control procedures ensuring all documentation is complete and correct.
  • Able to identify opportunities for process improvement and increased efficiency.
  • Follow 5S organization and shop cleanliness procedures.
  • Move jobs through production work flow in a timely manner.
  • Strive to operate with high production efficiency, keeping actual times close to estimated times.
  • Ability to work with small or large parts.
