We are looking for a strong Lead Welder who will be Supervising Installation sites and Welding and Installing Custom Metal Fabrications. You must have a strong background in welding – 10 Years of welding experience minimum, supervisory or team leader experience is an asset. JOB DESCRIPTION:

Site Supervisor & Installer – Lead Welder

PRINCIPAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:

A Lead Welder – Fabricator provides lead supervision in the oversight of the activities of the weld shop/work site and performs specialized duties involving welding and metal fabrication related to Custom Metal Fabrication and Installation. The lead welder will also be supervising the work site and reporting to the business owner on a regular daily basis.

Duties include – Site supervision and installation supervision. Performing daily quality control checks and ensuring welding and fabricating meets the appropriate codes, also welding and installing and reporting to the president/business owner daily.

Qualifications Required:

Any combination of training, education, or experience equivalent to Canadian Welding Bureau (CWB) level experience, and considerable (10 -15 years) experience in fabrication and welding using MIG, TIG, SMAW.

Expectations:

  • To use TIG / MIG welding equipment to manufacture parts and assemblies.
  • Build welded assemblies for new products and changes to existing products as per engineering documents and established production standards.
  • Operating other necessary equipment and performing tasks necessary to complete parts to specifications.
  • Preparing and setup of necessary tools and equipment for welding jobs.
  • Arranging of parts for welding and staging processes.
  • Inspect and correct welds as necessary to meet product specifications.
  • Review finished assemblies & parts to ensure accuracy against drawings.
  • Report fabrication issues and assist in resolutions as required.
  • Perform other duties as requested by the department manager.
  • Log hours worked on each project.

  • Shifts: Day Shift, Monday – Friday

· Salary: $CA 35.00/hour

QUALIFICATIONS & SKILLS

  • Only Canadian Citizens, PRs, or valid Work Permit holders will be considered
  • High School Diploma or equivalent (welding school an asset)
  • 10-15 years experience welding, (fitting background is required)
  • Must be able to pass TIG and MIG (Metal Inert Gas) test
  • Ability to use a variety of hand and measurement tools
  • Strong knowledge and experience with MIG and TIG welding
  • Read and interpret welding blueprints, drawings specifications, and technical manuals
  • Excellent manual dexterity and hand-eye coordination with strong attention to detail
  • Excellent written and verbal English communication skills
  • Excellent interpersonal, problem-solving and time-management skills
  • Strong team player and the ability to work independently
  • Welding Certifications or tickets (preferred)
  • Ability to lift 30 – 50 KG
