Job Summary :
Reporting to the Construction Superintendent, the Underground Millwright Welder is responsible for direct or indirect support of mining operations by assuming responsibility for the maintenance, repair and manufacturing of all metal structures both for underground and on surface related to production.
Required Skills and Qualifications :
Certified Millwright (Preferred)
Minimum of 3 years maintenance work experience as a Welder/Fitter or journey level Welder/Fitter designation preferably in an underground mine setting
Duties and Responsibilities :
Component rebuild of mobile mining fleet
Fabrication and equipment repair
Read and interpret welding blueprints, drawings specifications, manuals and processes
Maintenance, repair and manufacturing of all metal structures both for underground and on surface
Detect and troubleshoot irregularities and malfunctions
Ensure that all weld processes meet company quality standards
Health and Safety :
Follow Company and Client health and safety standards and report all unsafe acts or conditions to supervisor
Responsible to ensure proper use and maintenance of personal protective equipment
Work in accordance with local legislation
