Wage: $17.37 – $28.66/hr plus pension and benefits, depending on experience

Ridalco Industries Inc., a 75+ year old Ottawa, Ontario based manufacturer of precision metal products for a variety of industries and applications, is looking for a Machine Operator to join our team. This position reports to the Shop Manager.

The ideal candidate will have experience working with thin gauge sheet metal, including stainless steel, aluminum, steel, copper, and brass. He or she must be extremely organized with the ability to effectively multitask and must be able and willing to learn on an ongoing basis. The ideal candidate must possess a high school diploma.

Responsibilities include (but not limited to):

  • Read and interpret CAD drawings
  • Set up and operate machine for established work using supplied drawings
  • Select correct tooling for the job task using product documents or supervisor/lead assistance
  • Load, install, and correctly set up the tools required with assistance from supervisor/lead as required
  • Perform assigned work to time standards and quality expectations
  • Deburr all material edges before advancing material to the next stage of production
  • Make routine decisions and use problem solving to resolve basic manufacturing issues or seek assistance
  • Report basic material, production, and quality control issues
  • Maintain inspection log books on assigned area equipment, report deficiencies to maintenance
  • Participate in equipment preventative maintenance at the operator level
  • Use tape measure and scale to the nearest 1/32 inch
  • Maintain order and cleanliness in department

The following Training/Certifications would be considered an asset:

  • WHMIS
  • Standard First Aid/CPR Training
  • Forklift Safety Training

COVID-19 considerations:

Ridalco has installed (and manufactures) cashier/counter/desk shields. Hand sanitizer stations have been installed throughout the shop and office area. Paid sick leave allows employees to take time off if experiencing any symptoms of COVID-19. Employees are asked to wear masks when physical distancing is difficult or not possible.
