Overview

Established structural steel fabrication shop in Hutto, TX (northeast of Austin, TX) has an opening for a MACHINE OPERATOR / WELDER. This is a heavy production position in a fast-paced environment.

BWT’s Welding is a small company where our employees perform multiple job duties. Your willingness to cross train is a job requirement and will ensure your success with our firm.

REQUIRED SKILLS:

  • Forklift experience is a MUST
  • Use a tape measure (1/16th)
  • Lift 50 – 75 pounds
  • Stand 10 – 12 hours a day
  • Work in non-climate-controlled environment
  • Work 40 hours regularly and up to 50 hours when needed – OT is mandatory
  • Adhere to employee handbook, including safety guidelines and use of proper PPE

A TAPE MEASURE AND WELD TEST WILL BE PERFORMED AT INTERVIEW.

DRIVER IS A PLUS FOR LOCAL PICKUP AND DELIVERIES (flatbed truck & 30′ gooseneck trailer)

  • Experience with CNC machines (burn table, ironworker, band saw)
  • Operator machine regularly
  • Perform PM on machine as needed
  • Keep machine work area clean
  • Use a grinder to clean parts
  • Mig weld (hard wire) and Flux Core
  • Use a torch and grinder

Wage will depend on experience and skill but starts at $16 – $18/hour

Must be able to attend work regularly. Paid health insurance and holiday pay after 90-day probation period. Vacation awarded after one year of continuous employment.
