Duties and Responsibilties

The incumbant assigned to this position is responsible for, but not limited to the following:

Plans workloads, sets deadlines, work objectives and time utilization in order to achieve the most effective results for (1) Aluminum Welder, (1) Maintenance Supervisor I – SES, (3), Electronic Technician II, and (1) Locksmith II. Monitors ongoing work to determine if the work is being performed according to instructions and within established timeframes. Provides technical assistance and training to ensure productivity, close effectiveness and a safe work environment. Directs, coordinates and assists staff in solving any work-related problems which occur. Supervises and motivates employees in order to improve the quality and quantity of work performed. Communicates on a regular basis with employees both individually and in staff meetings. Evaluates employees through established criteria and meets with staff, on a regular basis, to ensure the criteria is met. Plans and supervises a preventative maintenance and repair program. Recommends disciplinary action as necessary.

Assigns and monitor work requests and special projects as requested by the supervisor. Conducts on-site inspections to ensure the job is being completed according to standards and in the most cost effective and efficient manner.

Computes estimates and actual cost of factors, such as materials, labor and outside contractors. Completes and maintains reports as necessary. Assist with the annual FCO (Fixed Capital Outlay) request to Tallahassee.

Conducts inventories and requisitions, materials and supplies as necessary; receives and check materials ordered upon receipt. Requisitions or purchase tools, equipment and materials for proper care of buildings and grounds.

Conducts training and in-service training to explain policies, safety in the workplace, proper work procedures and to demonstrate the proper use and maintenance of equipment.

Perform other related duties as required or requested by supervisor

Knowledge, skills, and abilities, including utilization of equipment required for the position

Knowledge of Microsoft Word & Excel.

Knowledge of office procedures and practices.

Ability to communicate effectively, verbally and in writing.

Ability to work independently and utilize problem-solving techniques.

Ability to plan, organize and coordinate work assignment.
