Webco Industries, Orange, Texas Distribution, has 1 opportunity open for a Maintenance Technician in the Maintenance Department on the following shift: Monday – Friday 7:00AM-5:00PM

Reports directly to GBM

PAY: Full Time- $21.30 per hour to start.

Must have good verbal communication skills in order to communicate with managers, supervisors, engineers and co-workers that he/she will interact with when determining maintenance needs.

Skilled in reading micrometers, Vernier calipers, and dial indicators and other types of measuring tools with accuracy.

Ability to read and follow standard operating instructions or blueprints in performance of job duties;

Good mechanical skills and mechanical aptitude.

Good shop math skills (general math problems using shop applications and terms in the problems). Math skills must include the ability to do decimals, fractions and averages.

Must be able to use a variety of power and hand tools such as wrenches, hammers, drills, saws, screwdrivers and grease gun to perform maintenance on repairs and equipment.

Ability to use electrical arc welder, grinder, and cutting torch.

Able to work at heights up to 40 feet; utilizing scissor/boom lifts when required.

Capable of working with voltage up to and including 300 volts DC and 480 volts AC.

Ability to dismantle, move, and install machinery or equipment.

Must be able to produce quality work within tolerance and to the specification of design and blue print requirements.

Demonstrated interest for this position would include a successful enrollment in Vo-Tech classes.

Ensure area is clean and organized.

This position is responsible for:
Servicing, maintaining, rebuilding, and repairing a wide variety of production or processing machines and equipment in our facility.

Performing preventative maintenance checks on various equipment to ensure that the equipment is in safe operating condition.

Additional responsibilities include buildings and facilities maintenance and repair.

Work performed includes mechanical, electrical, hydraulic, pneumatic, and welding operations associated with installation and repair of all types of equipment, machinery, pumps, and conveyors.

TYPICAL WORKING CONDITIONS: Indoor, manufacturing environment with regular exposure to loud and prolonged noise. Noise exposure is constant, which includes the noise of machinery and overhead cranes. Noise exposure also includes frequent and extremely loud clanging sounds caused from metal tubing banging against each other during processing. Employees are required to wear Personal Protective Equipment (PPE) to include noise/hearing protection, safety glasses with side shields and steel toed work shoes. Employee work 12 hour shifts experiencing regular exposure to hot temperatures of 95° F to 110° F in the summer due to the combination of the actual outside temperature and heat from the processes inside the facility. Employees are also exposed to cold temperatures, which is dependent on the actual outside temperature.
