You independently operate and maintain at least one process, equipment or systems following autonomous maintenance (AM) standards and use your technical skills to improve line and/or system performance to meet business needs.
How you will contribute
You are a key ingredient in changing how the world snacks. With coaching, you will operate and maintain equipment to deliver on our safety, quality, cost, delivery, sustainability and morale targets. You will use execute all standard work processes on your equipment using AM (autonomous maintenance) and PM (progressive maintenance) standards and ensure that safety processes are observed, and that quality assurance activities are performed. You will understand the losses in their area and equipment and report them.

What you need to know about this position:
Main Responsibilities
Maintenance and emergency repairs of oven system in process area requiring proven ability to braze, weld, work on pipe repairs in hot/humid environment
Maintaining, diagnosing issues and repairing steam and chiller systems in fast paced environment
Perform safety inspections, lubricate and make repairs or adjustments on machines when required
Check machines in operation on a continual basis to detect problems; exercise judgement in executing necessary adjustments as required to maintain quality control standards.
Ability and willingness to work various shifts, including alternate shift structures. This includes weekends, nights and holidays.
Work from blueprints and operate machine shop equipment.
Share questions, learning’s and best practices with fellow mechanics to contribute to machine efficiency levels and decreasing machine breakdowns and downtime.
Keep accurate maintenance records and journals.
Work in conjunction with the Engineering department with regards to machine modifications and the installation of new machinery and production systems.
Work closely with operating colleagues to ensure that high quality products are produced while maintaining budgeted efficiencies.
Knowledge and understanding of SOP’s and work instructions
Understand, participate and support all safety programs, policies, and initiatives within the manufacturing location
Understands and follows Ewen Manufacturing food safety systems and procedures
Responsible for ensuring all products produced meets all GMP and food safety requirements
All other duties as assigned by supervisor
Physical Effort:
Work requires ability to work in hot and humid conditions >35 deg. for long period of times
Work normally requires a moderate level of physical effort in bending, lifting, and manual dexterity.
Working Conditions
This position occurs in a food manufacturing setting (plant environment).
Exposure to noise, raw materials, some dust and variable temperatures is common
The use of personal protective equipment is required, particularly protective footwear and hearing protection as well as hard hats and safety glasses when required
What extra ingredients you will bring:
Education and Certifications
High School Diploma
Either Steam Fitter Certification 307A or 3rd class Stationary Engineer certification.
Job specific requirements:
2+ years of experience operating and Maintaining steam and chillers preferred
Proven welding experience – Brazing, Stick and MIG welding
Initiative, good communication skills, ability to work as part of a team with little direct supervision.
Ability to meet physical demands of lifting and maneuvering heavy objects.
Sound judgement and problem-solving skills.
Computer literacy Microsoft Outlook, Word, Excel
Results-oriented and a strong sense of urgency/focus.
Travel requirements: No
Work schedule: Day shift with possibility to switch to 12 hour continental shift
