Maintenance Welder/Fabricator

Vacancy # CM 012022-31, Position # 117

As part of the Centralized Maintenance the Maintenance Welder is responsible for welding, fabrication, and welding repair. Additionally, the incumbent maintains the mechanical, hydraulic, and pneumatic system of the water and wastewater treatment plants. Essential duties include the followings:

· Repairs or replaces pumps, valves, gearboxes, etc.

· Designs, fabricates, and install pumping systems and weldments of aluminum, carbon, and stainless steel.

· Performs preventive maintenance on machinery and equipment.

· Performs plumbing, carpentry, general maintenance, and installation on plant facilities.

· Research parts on computer and order parts.

· Perform inventory/property management.

· Diagnoses pumping system problems and repair.

· Uses crane trucks and other hoists, to remove and install equipment.

In the event of an emergency, all employees are considered essential personnel and may be required to perform alternate duties.

Educational Requirement:

The position requires a High School Diploma or GED.

Experience Requirement:

Three (3) year of work experience in welding or fabrication.

Special Qualifications:

Possession of or ability to readily obtain a valid State of North Carolina driver’s license.

The position is a pay grade 12 with a starting salary of 16.6213- 19.0353 hourly

Pay: $16.62 – $19.03 per hour
