COVID-19 continues to significantly impact our employees, families and communities. Description:Weld any steel, alloy or aluminum parts such as fuel tanks, boilers, pipes, steam lines, monorail supports, structural beams and machine parts. Use acetylene gas flames, electrical arc, heliarc, or spot weld equipment. Layout and fabricate simple and some complicated sheet metal parts. Make sketches of work to be performed when necessary. Check set-up, select tips, pressures, rods and electrical settings; tack weld to control distortion, and lay weld. Work on parts that must be pressure tested. Weld work above head and aloft. Make weld holding fixtures when necessary. Do simple mechanical work in connection with welding where necessary. Do own forging work when necessary. Use machines such as shears, saws, brakes, drills, rolls and punch to make setups and perform welder duties. Perform lead burning operations when necessary. Assist ‘B’ Welders when required. Perform any related incidental but necessary operations in completion of the above duties. Keep own work area clean and orderly.

Basic Qualifications:
Equivalent to 2 years of high school plus two to three years trade training.

Desired Skills:
Two (2) to three (3) years experience.
