Position Purpose for Mechanic:
Flexible polyurethane foam manufacturing and fabrication facility is looking for a skilled Maintenance Technician with experience in the maintenance and repair of industrial machinery. Performs maintenance, troubleshooting, installation and repair of all plant machinery, equipment, building and grounds. *Must be willing to work flexible hours including overtime, weekends and holidays.
Responsibilities:
Essential duties:
Research, order, and maintain necessary supplies to support assigned work and projects.
Overtime is mandatory including Saturday’s.
Must provide their own basic hand tools.
Uses basic mechanics’ tools; wrenches, ratchets, sockets, hack saw, tape measure, and screw driver.
Performs basic operations of major pieces of plant equipment
Uses basic mechanical skills to identify and correct minor mechanical issues with equipment.
Performs stick, TIG and MIG welding and uses cutting torch.
Understands and interprets basic drawings or sketches.
Uses basic electrical troubleshooting skills to identify and correct minor electrical issues with equipment.
Uses voltmeter to perform basic electrical troubleshooting.
Understands the basic principles of hydraulics and pneumatics.
Understands basic lubrication principles.
Understands and operates electric and LPG/Gas forklifts.
Correctly completes work order forms.
Correctly completes inventory forms.
Follow 5S and safety policies and procedures.
Other duties, as assigned.
Qualifications:
Knowledge, skills , experience:
A minimum of 2 years of maintenance experience in a manufacturing environment for Mechanic I
Ability to use job-appropriate tools
Proficiency in investigating, deducing and recommending corrective actions for mechanical, electrical, pneumatic and hydraulic systems required.
Education / Certifications:
High School Diploma or equivalent
Mechanic must be a certified welder
Qualifications:

Proficient in all forms of mechanical maintenance, machining, piping, and metal fabrication.
Ability to communicate effectively including effectively presenting information, comprehending and communicating detailed instructions, reading and writing correspondence and memos, and having knowledge of commonly used concepts, practices, and procedures as required by the position.
Ability to apply common sense practices to carry out detailed oral or written instruction. Ability to deal with problems involving multiple variables in continuously changing situations.

This position requires the wearing of Personnel Protective Equipment (PPE) consisting of eye protection while on the production floor as well as hearing protection in designated areas.
