Job description

Ideal position for college student summer position. We are looking for reliable students to assist in our manufacturing/welding production workshop. The qualified candidate must have a valid driver’s license as errands and deliveries, using Tyne’s designated vehicles, between our workshop in Oakville and headquarters offices in Burlington are required. The candidate will assist welders and technicians as needed. The candidate will be responsible for maintaining the upkeep of tools and warehouse environment. Candidate must be comfortable with lifting tools, equipment such as ladders and boxes.

Essential duties and responsibilities.

  • Drive locally as needed using Tyne’s vehicle to purchase parts and deliver between Tyne’s two locations.
  • Assist welders/technicians with filing, machining, cutting and assembling as needed.
  • Perform general labor duties as required.
  • Maintain workshop cleanliness and organization of tools, supplies, machines.
  • Interact with engineers, welders and machine operators in a team-like and effective manner.
  • Promotes and maintains a safe work environment in accordance with all company safety procedures and regulations.
  • Maintains appropriate knowledge and ability levels to efficiently perform all assigned work and utilizes this knowledge base to become proficient on new/unfamiliar assignments.

Minimum Requirements

  • High School Diploma.
  • Valid Driver’s License.
  • Fabrication/machine shop experience preferred.
  • Must be authorized to work in the Canada without needing sponsorship at time of hiring or in the future.
