Marine Yard Welder

This welding position is responsible for cutting, assembling, and fitting pieces of metal together or repairing damage in metal components using heavy equipment that emits high heat, and melting into shape. This position will need to have a working knowledge of reading and comprehending blueprints, schematics and/or material specifications to ensure safe operations. Work will be performed at 2100 Dupont Drive in Orange, Texas at the Marine Yard and may include occasional travel.

Requires knowledge of welding operations.

Requires ability to conduct routine repairs and maintenance as needed.

Requires knowledge of all safety regulations and procedures.

Knowledge of machines and tools, including their designs, uses, repair, and maintenance.

Must regularly lift and /or move up to 50 pounds.

Perform all welding repairs and maintenance; operate welding equipment safely, measure pieces to conform to specifications and assemble required parts or pieces to ensure proper assembly.

Maintain inventory of all welding equipment, materials, and supplies.

Fabrication functions as needed.

Stand watch as needed.
