To help achieve our business plan, Bruce Power currently has an excellent opportunity to build your career as a Mechanical Maintainer – Welder . More than one (1) required, multiple locations onsite, various shift patterns (i.e. days, afternoons, nights)

Key Responsibilities

Mechanical Maintainers have the highest regard for safety, are responsible for maintaining systems needed to fuel and control nuclear reactors plus ancillary systems. Job responsibilities include, but are not limited to the following:

  • Maintain and repair items such as compressors, valves, motors, pumps, turbines, hydraulic systems and generators
  • May be required to work from heights, in confined spaces, and in environments containing, respiratory radiological, chemical, electrical, and mechanical hazards
  • Provide feedback to technical staff regarding the condition of the equipment through dismantling, inspection and re-assembly in accordance with established procedures
  • Carry out quality predictive maintenance, preventive, corrective and breakdown maintenance, to ensure reliable system operation and ensure the equipment is in a good state of repair
  • This work may be performed on a twelve hour, rotating shift schedule

Education and Experience

  • Candidates require an Ontario Secondary School Diploma or equivalent as recognized by the Ontario Ministry of Education
  • Candidates must hold a valid Ontario or Interprovincial License as a Welder.
  • Candidates holding more than one Certificate of Qualification considered an asset
  • Work experience on process equipment and systems in a related industry is considered an asset
  • Candidates who have experience with training development/delivery may be considered an asset

  • Technical testing
  • Competency based interview
  • Past performance record and suitability for this position
