Mechanical Maintenance Technician- Welder Specialty

Responsibilities
The Mechanical Maintenance Technician – Welder specialty is accountable to the Mechanical Maintenance Supervisor and is responsible for performing weld repairs and maintenance tasks on various mechanical equipment and structures, contributing to the overall reliability and uptime of the facility.
Welding and Fabrication; Perform welding tasks including GTAW and SMAW techniques to repair, fabricate or modify pressure or structural components. Work with various materials such as Carbon Steel, Stainless Steels, Duplex and Chrome to achieve high quality welds meeting all code and QA/QC requirements.
Conduct Routine maintenance of mechanical equipment such as pressure piping, boilers, tanks, heat exchangers, pressure vessels, and various valves as per daily maintenance schedule.
Adhere to all safety protocols and guidelines while performing welding and maintenance tasks. Identify and report potential safety hazards and suggest corrective actions to maintain a safe working environment.
Maintain accurate records of maintenance activities including equipment repairs, modifications, and inspections. Generate reports on work completed, parts utilized and recommendations for improving equipment reliability and performance.
Participate in progression and leadership skill block program, EH&S program, Quality process, and other company programs as required.
Education, Experience & Skill
Red Seal Journeyman in Welding, Pipefitting or Boilermaking with valid TSASK or equivalent tickets in F3/F4 and F5/F6 designations.
Ability to read and interpret technical drawings, piping ISO’s and welding stamps.
Good working knowledge of safe industry practices is required. ex. OH&S, environmental and engineering standards, etc.
Complete knowledge of procedures. ex. line breaking, lock/tag out, etc.
