Medical Equipment Repair Technician – TIG Welding

Travels to customer sites/locations to perform case cart repairs and support services. Uses judgment and experience to manage all aspects of the customer’s relationship with IMS. Uses learned competencies to repair and refurbish general and micro instruments on customer’s premises. Supervises training of less experienced departmental personnel. Maintains a clean driving record, professional attitude and appearance. Demonstrates the ability to effectively communicate with both internal and external customers.

• Establishes and maintains rapport with customer base and expectations by determining customer pricing and budgeting constraints

• Repair carts, poles and other hospital and clinic equipment (welds as needed)

• Promotes technical sales of the On Location services to generate repair order.

• Sterilizer cleaning/equipment auditing (preventive maintenance)

• Completes daily administrative duties to include customer purchase orders, report tracking, supply orders, expense reports and scheduling

• Responsible for maintenance and cleanliness of company vehicle

• Conducts site visits with customers

• Completion of reports and records for the company and customers

• Compliance to all safety and quality regulations required

High School Diploma or GED

• Degree from a 2-year college or Technical School preferred or 2 years related experience/training and or/combination of education and experience

• Strong techincal ability required

• Intricate TIG welding experience a plus

• Possesses extensive knowledge of preventive maintenance, repair and welding on wheeled carts and devices and demonstrated the ability to communicate inspection, repair, and handling to the customer

• Must possess a valid driver’s license with a clean driving record

• Must be able to communicate with customers, clients and co-workers on various levels

• Must be able to travel extensively
