Shelby Erectors, Inc. is seeking a metal bridge deck installer for immediate work in Tampa, Orlando, and other area bridge projects in Florida. The job will require travel to other bridge projects in Florida as needed. Lodging will be provided.
Job Requirements
Warehouse Tasks
Maintain Warehouse and Yard
Warehouse should be kept orderly and include, but are not limited to, the following tasks:
Tools put away after use.
Items delivered are to be opened and put away in a timely manner (notify General Manager about items received).
Warehouse floor swept bi-weekly.
Trash taken out when cans are full.
Inventory
Bi-weekly inventory audits are to be completed and submitted to General Manager.
Purchase and keep a supply of all cleaning and miscellaneous supplies as requested by the cleaning people.
Miscellaneous Warehouse
Any tools or equipment that cannot be repaired inhouse are to be taken to an outside repair shop.
Yard should be kept orderly and include, but are not limited to, the following tasks:
Use blower to blow off concrete driveway bi-weekly.
Store equipment in an orderly fashion and keep same style equipment together.
Pick up trash around yard.
Runner Tasks
Deliveries and Pick-Ups
Use Shelby Erectors truck, and possibly trailer, to deliver/pick-up items to/from job sites across the state.
Use Shelby Erectors equipment, or equipment rented by Shelby Erectors, to load trailers when needed.
Notify Superintendents and Safety personnel about your travel plans to see if they need anything delivered apart from what was already requested.
Inspect truck and load prior to departing to ensure all lights and signals are working and that load is properly secured.
Overnight stay may be required when delivering items out of town. Lodging provided by Shelby Erectors.
Qualifications
Ability to understand, follow, and transmit written and oral instructions.
Ability to operate and drive a truck and pull trailer
Ability to travel and work overtime (may include nights and weekends).
Capability to load and unload rebar bundles to or from trucks and place them in the final destination as instructed.
Maintain equipment and tools to ensure long lasting use.
Responsible and accountable for their own personal safety and the safety of all co-workers.
Able to stop work on any task or series of tasks whenever an unsafe condition or situation is anticipated or is observed.
Reports any and all violations of applicable laws, regulations, or company policies and procedures promptly.
Benefits
$18.00 per hour, with periodic adjustments as you progress in the position
Health benefits after 90 days of employment
Company 401(k) match after one year of employment
Pay is $16-$17/hr with no or limited experience and $17 – $21/hr depending on experience. However, preference is given to applicants with welding experience.
