Overview

AVT is looking for an experienced Metal Manufacturing Machine Operators to join our team of dedicated fabricators.

Afternoon Shift: Monday – Thursday 4:00pm – 2:30 am. Guaranteed 40 hours per week. Overtime often available for those that are interested.

Roles and Responsibilities

· Set up and operate brake press to bend, form or straighten metal products or Shear to cut.

· Provide expertise, support, and direction including but not limited to; brake press operation, dies, measuring devices, gauges, tooling, material handling and safety

· Ensures that the brake press is properly set-up, working well and producing quality product

· Completes a quality inspection of the finished product to ensure defect-free

· Must work in accordance with Health & Safety regulations, Company rules, policies, and procedures

· Must ensure machine safety rules are followed (light curtains, guarding, etc.)

· Bend or cutparts according to provided drawings and specifications

· Completion of data entry and/or paperwork as required

· Interface with Quality and Engineering

· Maintain proper Manufacturing housekeeping standards

· All other duties as assigned by Supervisors and Managers

COMPETENCIES

  • Min. 5 years of machine operating experience a plus
  • Strong mechanical aptitude and math skills to comprehend how schematics work
  • Read and interpret blueprints, sketches, drawings, and other specifications accordingly
  • Must have excellent problem-solving skills
  • Must be able to stand and complete repetitive motion for extended periods of time
  • Experience with Metal Fabrication an asset
  • Ability to use Tape Measure, Vernier, and other measuring tools
  • Ability to work independently and in a team setting
  • Capable to lift up to 50lbs comfortably
  • Dependability
  • Previous experience driving a Fork-Lift would be an asset
