About Us

We are a plastic tank manufacturer, based in Morinville, AB. We have been making a large selection of tanks, trays and basins, as well as custom products, for virtually anyone who has need for plastics, for over 30 years.

We provide products to a wide variety of industries, including environmental, oil and gas, mining, relocatable structures (trailers), agricultural, chemical, industrial, construction, residential water and wastewater… so almost everyone! Our products cover almost any application: water and wastewater, chemicals, mobile applications, stationary storage, transport, underground storage, etc. In addition to our own manufactured products, we are also a distributor for Fibreglass Reinforced Plastics (FRP) products (up to 35,000 gallons) which are used for water and wastewater, above and below ground use. We carry a complete line of pumps, hose, fittings and various other accessories. As a manufacturer, we also do custom work, for those “special projects”.

About the Opportunity

As a general laborer/ metal fabricator apprentice, you will be responsible for reading and interpreting drawings, fabricating metal or plastic components, and performing quality checks on finished products. You may also be required to set up fabricating machines and other tools.

To ensure success as a metal fabricator apprentice, you should have knowledge of custom metalwork, a good eye for detail, and excellent mathematical skills.

General laborer/metal fabricator apprentice responsibilities:

  • Willingness to cross train in various departments.
  • Use of hand tools and other various power tools.
  • Measuring and marking out cutting and bending lines.
  • Setting up metalwork machinery including rolls, drill presses, plasma cutters, brakes, and shears.
  • Double-checking design specifications before commencing with cutting work.
  • Fabricating and constructing metal components.
  • Grinding and finishing completed products.
  • Performing quality checks on completed products.
  • Conforming with company safety regulations.
  • Shearing, cutting and laying out various metal and plastic components.

Requirements:

  • 1st or 2nd year journeypersons preferred.
  • Ability to follow both verbal and written directions.
  • Previous work experience in a metal fabrication environment.
  • Ability to read and interpret drawings.
  • Proficiency with metal fabrication tools including but not limited to shears, rollers, flame cutters, plasma table, press brakes and drill presses.
  • Advanced mathematical skills.
  • Ability to lift and manipulate large metal objects.
  • Ability to stand for long periods.
