Door/Storefronts Assembler Department: Fabrication

Please note the shift for this position is 7:00am to 3:30pm with a 30 min unpaid lunch.
Job purpose

  • Provide exemplary customer service to co-workers while working in a team environment.
  • General fabrication and assembly of doors/framing using hand and power tools.
  • Using the best means for fabrication, which could be machine operation (CNC, saw’s, punches).
  • Adhere to and promote all corporate safety policies.

Duties and responsibilities

  • Safely perform work as assigned by SC Manager in a timely manner.
  • By referring to the fabrication package, locate specific product in the facility, to cut and prepare for assembly.
  • Handle product in a manner that will not cause damage to the product or injury to self or others.
  • Recognize product defects and notify management team immediately of any issues.
  • Read, understand and communicate paperwork and labels.
  • Print tags and package doors and miscellaneous hardware for delivery.
  • Assist unloading metal trucks/freight deliveries, as needed.
  • During downtime, organize to reduce clutter and wasted movement.
  • Must be able to work in a fast-paced environment with minimal direct supervision.

Qualifications

  • Follow all safety polices & procedures as a prerequisite of employment.
  • Experience using and reading a tape measure to the 16th’s.
  • Experience reading and understanding fabrication drawings.
  • Experience using powered industrial tools.
  • Regular and predictable attendance; safely perform tasks, and adherence to all safety policies and procedures are essential functions of your job.
  • Positive attitude and desire to be part of a team.
  • Responsive to change in priorities and immediate demands.
  • Possess organizational skills and remains calm under pressure

Working conditions & Physical requirements

  • Must be able to consistently lift, up to 75 lbs at plant location.
  • Must be able to stand and walk on concrete floor for eight or more hours.
  • Must be able to wear company issued PPE.
  • Be able to maintain composure in a continuously changing environment.
  • Be able to remain in an upright position for long periods of time.
  • Daily and/or weekly overtime required, not to exceed statutory legislation.

Job Type: Full-time

Salary: $18.00-$20.00 per hour

  • Calgary, AB: reliably commute or plan to relocate before starting work (preferred)

Experience:

  • Metal fabrication: 1 year (preferred)
