Sixwest Welding is an expanding local metal fabrication business based in the Okanagan. We pride ourselves in designing, fabricating and installing high quality metal products to our clients all over the valley. We are a busy and thriving business looking for a Metal Fabricator/Welding apprentice to join our small team.
The position will start as support to our main welder/fabricator but the hope is to be able to support and train our employee to work towards taking on more responsibility. You will be working under an experienced metal fabricator, and will have the opportunity to learn and hone your skills.
This position would suit someone looking to gain valuable hands-on experience in the metal fabrication industry.
Duties/Responsibilities:
– Performing basic shop duties such as cutting, bending, grinding, welding
– Helping Install
Competencies:
– Great attention to detail
– Self-motivated
– Good communication
– Drivers licence required
Relevant Skills:
– Experience reading drawings/ working off of sketches
– Knowledge of general trades safety
– Aluminum and steel capabilities
– On-site experience is an asset.
