We are looking for a Machinist to take the lead operationally within our production shop. Working indoors Within a team / independent setting where you will be involved with the processing, manufacturing shipping and receiving of goods and services.

As a lead hand, you play a vital role in the quality and success of our projects.

Job Description

Under the supervision of the General Manager , this position entails being held responsible for the manufacturing and support of business needs.

  • Receiving, sorting, and storing metal according to types and sizes.
  • Reading and understanding shop drawings.
  • Ability to create cut lists utilizing material efficiently in efforts to reduce waste.
  • cutting, bending, shaping material
  • Power brushing, grinding, filing, cleaning and painting various products.
  • Prepare working surfaces for fitting / welding.
  • Tracking, organizing inventory and consumables on a consistent basis.
  • Communicating and correcting maintenance / procedure concerns proactively.
  • Demonstrate commitment to your own and the health & safety of coworkers.
  • Be a team player with a willingness to assist with advanced project needs.

Qualifications

  • Experience with hand tools / power tools.
  • BANDSAW, SHEAR, BRAKE PRESS, IRON WORKER.
  • FORKLIFT EXPERIANCE.
  • FABRICATION SHOP EXPERIENCE.
  • Supervisor / lead hand experience.
  • Ability to work in a loud, busy environment.
  • Ability to lift 20-25kg observing safe lifting technique.
  • Must be able to stand and walk for long periods of time.
  • Good physical fitness.
  • Ability to work independently and as a team.
  • Excellent attendance and safety record.
  • G licence, clean drivers abstract considered an asset.

Expected start date: 2022-01-03

Job Types: Full-time, Permanent

Salary: $18.00-$22.00 per hour
