Join our awesome team and become a member of our MIG Welding Department as our:

MIG WELDER I

You will be part of a team that produces products for a vast range of sectors which includes various armoured components for the defence industry, as well as parts for the oil & gas, power utility, and communications sectors.

Our Welders are responsible for assembling, fitting and welding final sub-components for non-standardized and standard assemblies using the MIG welding processes.

We are seeking a person with the following skill set and competencies:

  • A grade twelve diploma or equivalent; Having a related trades certificate or diploma preferred.
  • 3 – 6 months welding work practicum and/or work experience.
  • Ability to use measurement tools; read and work with production work orders, blueprints, and diagrams.
  • Experience with GMAW processes in the welding of steel, stainless steel, and aluminum is a requirement.
  • Good communication and interpersonal skills, a positive attitude and initiative.

Your skills and competencies will help you:

  • Train to become Ballistic Welding Certified
  • With the use of established welding procedures and the use of Jigs, meet the expected work order times and tolerances as prescribed on the manufacturing work order for standard and non-standard assemblies.
  • Read blueprints and shop drawings and manufacture required parts to the specification and tolerances indicated on drawings.
  • Check products and materials to ensure compliance with tolerance/quality standards.
  • Operation of grinders, and cutting equipment is required.
  • Operate forklift and crane
  • Operation and maintenance of welding and associate machinery
  • Keep work area clean and organized.
