The Lincolnton, NC manufacturer is located approximately 40 miles from Charlotte, NC. This facility employs nearly 300 full time associates in both 1st and 2nd shift operations, which encompasses 219,000 sq. ft. ISO certified, our associates engage in Lean Manufacturing & 5S. Summary: Weld metal parts with gas welding equipment as specified by layout, welding diagram or work order

Duties and Responsibilities:
Positions parts in jugs or fixtures on bench or floor, or clamps parts together along layout marks

Welds part or subassembly using blueprints or written work instructions

Examines weld for bead size and other specifications

Repairs broken or cracked metal objects, fills holes and builds up metal parts

Applies flux to workpiece instead of filler rod

Lays out, positions and tack welds workpieces

Welds along vertical or overhead weld lines

Scarfs or grooves weld prior to applying filler metal

Chips or grinds off excess weld, slag or spatter

Cleans or degreases parts

Qualifications:
High School diploma or GED (general education degree)

Minimum of two years work experience

One to two (1-2) years of training at a community college or technical school

OR Combination of training and work experience (ex. 2yrs training and 2 yrs work experience)

Ability to read and comprehend simple instructions

Simple math skills

Ability to apply common sense understanding to carry out written or oral instructions

Ability to effectively solve problems and work with others to create a solution

Physical Demands:
The employee is regularly required to stand

The employee is frequently required to walk and reach with hands/arms

The employee is occasionally required to climb, balance, stoop, kneel, crouch or crawl

The employee is frequently required to lift and/or move up to 50 pounds

The employee is occasionally required to lift and/or move up to 100 pounds

The employee is frequently exposed to moving mechanical parts

Specific vision abilities required by this job include close vision and color vision
