MIG Welding Technician
As a MIG Welding Technician you will play a key role in producing and welding pre-manufactured steel, aluminium and stainless steel formed sections into modular frames for the main bodywork assembly
This role will include reading Engineering CAD drawings, weld details, identify connections and understand specification sheets
You will be responsible for carrying out precise measurements and accurately building to our customer’s required specification
You must be able to select the correct materials for works operations and be skilled in cutting materials such as disc cutting or saw, drilling and grinding assembles to final finish requirements
A high level of quality is required to weld assemblies accurately as shown in Technical Specification Documents

Key Responsibilities

  • To read and work accurately from engineering drawings
  • Able to work to tight tolerances and complete work to agreed deadlines and provide the highest quality of work
  • To ensure all documentation and IT System updated when manufacture is completed and updated as required to allow full traceability of welded assemblies
  • To liase with engineering dept to ensure any issues are known/reported, understood and resolved quickly
  • To carry out work in a safe manner, maintain safe working environment, complying with health and safety guidelines and industry guidelines
  • To avoid damages to parts and materials, minimising waste by utilising consumables, disposing of raw materials and consumables items efficiently

Personal Specification

  • Be self-motivated, hands on and able to take predefined works instructions from Team Leaders or Production Dept
  • Energetic, reliable and flexible in your working approach
  • Good communication skills – written and verbal
  • Take pride and care in their work
  • Experienced, qualified MIG welder
