Overview
The successful candidate works in the Maintenance department at Maple Leaf Foods’ Brampton Poultry processing facility. He/she works in a fast-paced food manufacturing environment, responsible for maintenance of production equipment. This person has direct impact on the efficiency of our operation and contributes daily to quality of our products.
JOB RESPONSIBILITIES:
Contributes to a healthy work environment, while maintaining high safety standards
Installs, troubleshoots and repairs complex production equipment including electrical and mechanical services with knowledge of 600 V AC and lower field wiring, complete with an understanding of associated instrumentation and control/PLCs
Completes work requests, applies corrective measures
Enhances equipment performance by recommending improvements and implementing
Performs preventative maintenance and regular work orders, accounts for inventory and labour on computerized maintenance system
Takes action to correct any issues and to make improvements
Fulfills requirements of work order programs including requesting assistance when needed
Directly helps the department and the facility to meet targets and goals
Addresses issues with a sense of urgency and attention to detail
Fulfills all Health and Safety, Food Safety, HACCP, WHMIS and MSDS requirements
Maintains productivity that meets/exceeds standards
Responsible for inspecting and examining machinery and equipment to detect and investigate irregularities and malfunctions
Responsible for repairing and/or replacing machinery parts
Install, troubleshoot, repair and maintain power transmission, pump, vacuum, hydraulic and pneumatic systems
Works on equipment from drawings, written and/or verbal instructions
Operates production equipment and checks performance of that equipment
Fabricates & make repairs using a variety of standard shop tools to weld stainless steel (TIG & arc welding)
Contributes to the team and the whole facility in a positive way
Other responsibilities as required

REQUIRED SKILLS, ABILITY & EXPERIENCE:
Good communication skills, able to speak, read, and write English
Able to perform heavy lifting regularly (up to 50kgs)
Can work well in a team environment and support fellow team members
