The work location is in Nunavik and the normal work schedule is 11 hours per day on a rotation of 6 weeks: 3 weeks worked (77 hours per week, 7 days a week) followed by 3 weeks for rest.

Responsibilities

Reporting to the Mobile Maintenance Supervisor, the Welder, Class 1:

Execute all types of welding work (Dozer blade; excavator bucket, truck)

Draws, cuts, assembles and welds metal parts according to plans or determined data by using appropriate tools;

Chooses and uses metals and appropriate alloys;

Maintains and repairs welding equipment and reports any defects;

Uses and fills all documentation necessary for the follow-up of his work and writes inspection reports;

Submits to his immediate superior any improvement in the working process with the aim of optimizing the work;

Ensures compliance with health, safety and environmental regulations of his workplace;

Performs all other related tasks;

Qualifications

Must have a diploma of professional studies in drilling welding;

Have a minimum of 8 to 15 years of relevant experience in the welding field;

Valid CWB card required; Hold an explosive permit;

Valid class 5 driver’s license.

Assets

Experience in the mining industry.

Bilingualism in French and English (spoken and written).
