Rainy River Mine

Situated in beautiful northwestern Ontario, 65 km northwest of Fort Frances, the Rainy River Mine is an open pit, gold and silver producing, residential mine site.

The Rainy River Mine, located adjacent to the Ontario / Minnesota border is 65 Kilometers northwest of Fort Frances, Ontario and is situated half way between Winnipeg, Manitoba and Thunder Bay, Ontario The area is home to more than 130 species of birds and large populations of moose, black bear and deer. ABOUT THE ROLE:
Position: MOBILE MAINTENANCE WELDING SUPERVISOR

Schedule: 5/2 – 4/3 – 9 hour days

Position Reports To: Mobile Maintenance Welding Foreman

POSITION SCOPE:
The role of the Mobile Maintenance Welding Supervisor will be to oversee the Maintenance Welding Team and will report to the Welding Foreman. Additionally, holding the CWB certification and ensuring that Newgold meets CWB standards.

RESPONSIBILITIES:
To oversee QA/QC on maintenance and fabrication to support our Mining fleet as well as plant requirements; Provide direction and supervision working with the Maintenance Shift Supervisor. This position will also assist in the development of Maintenance employees and the efficient operation of the department.

Oversee the Maintenance Welding teams

Maintain safety and environmental systems consistent with business policies

Establish goals, schedules and priorities for the Maintenance Teams

Plan, organize and control maintenance activities using SAP

Work closely with the planners on continuous improvement projects involving all maintenance items

Ensure that drawings and procedures are catalogued and current

Tour and inspect the Maintenance department and resolve any maintenance, equipment, and safety or personnel issues

Ensure Maintenance teams and supervisors are informed of priorities and any necessary changes

Manage the Maintenance Welding teams

Provide leadership in the recruitment and selection of Maintenance employees.

Ensure employees have a clear understanding of work objectives and expectations of performance levels.

Ensure that direct reports and Maintenance staff are provided with the training required.

Conduct performance reviews and provide feedback to direct reports.

Complete all time entry, vacation requests and scheduling.

Ensure work order discipline requirements within SAP

KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS & ABILITIES:
CWB Supervisor Certification

Interprovincial Welder certification

Grade 12 diploma or equivalent

Ontario Supervisor Common Core

8 – 10 years of relevant experience

5 years of experience in a supervisory role

Knowledge of OHSA requirements

Excellent communication skills, both oral and written

Good interpersonal skills

Related technical knowledge

SAP or similar CMMS experience

Microsoft Office program operation and application skills
