Overview

We are looking for a skilled Welder to cut and join metals and other materials at our facilities and/or construction sites. You will operate appropriate equipment to put together structures or parts with a great deal of precision and with minimal guidance or supervision in any given situation. Your job is important as it provides the foundation for strong infrastructure. A welder must be competent in using potentially dangerous equipment following all safety precautions. The ideal candidate will have a steady hand and great attention to detail. Knowledge of different kinds of metal and their properties is essential.

The Mobile Rig Welder reports directly to the Service Dispatcher for logistical support, call and or estimate information and time. They will also report to the Owner for most other things. They are responsible for contacting the Service Dispatcher when on the way, arrived to and completion of the job that they were dispatched to including in shop, working in a cost effective fashion with pristine work, They must be customer service driven.

Responsibilities

  • Read blueprints and drawings and take or read measurements to plan layout and procedures
  • Determine the appropriate welding equipment or method based on requirements
  • Set up components for welding according to specifications (e.g. cut material with powered saws or grinder to match measurements)
  • Operate grinders to prepare the parts that must be welded
  • Align components using tape measures, squares, levels, clamp pieces, etc.
  • Weld components using welding equipment in various positions (vertical, horizontal or overhead)
  • Repair various items by welding pieces and filling gaps
  • Test and inspect welded surfaces and structure to discover flaws
  • Maintain equipment in a condition that does not compromise safety
  • Painting when necessary
  • Take Inventory of consumables on the rig daily and report to office
  • Clean all jobsites of debris when done
  • Travel to and from jobs in a timely manner

Skills

  • Proven experience as welder and fabricator for a minimum of 12 years
  • Experience using a variety of welding equipment and procedures (TIG, Mig, Stick, Dual Shield, MMA etc.)
  • Experience in using electrical or manual tools (saws, squares, grinders, drills, impacts, etc.)
  • Ability to read and interpret technical documents and drawings
  • Knowledge of relative safety standards and willingness to use protective clothing (face-shield, gloves etc.)
  • Deftness and attention to detail
  • Proficient in English
  • Successful completion of an Associates program is desired but not required
  • Professional Certification (e.g. an AWS welding certificate) will be a plus
  • Effective Solution Finder/Quick Thinker
  • Ability to pass a weld test, an in-depth background check and drug screening.

Other Requirements

  • High School Diploma
  • Must have 150′ + leads on your truck
  • Must have a smart phone and download Housecall Pro App
  • Must use Housecall Pro App for all business practices including clocking in and out
  • You must also be an excellent communicator with the ability to interact effectively with customers, colleagues and management.
  • Your Rig must have a RUNNING welding machine with your own oxygen and acetylene bottles, tools, consumables, gloves, Welding Helmet, PPE (We do replenish consumables)

Pay: $40.00 – $47.00 per hour
