A Plate Fitter/Welder fabricates heavy steel components by reading shop drawings, routers, and bills of material; performing welding operations using a variety of MIG welding equipment; verifies welding results; documents actions; maintains a safe work environment; keeps equipment operating smoothly; accomplishes manufacturing and organization mission.
All applicants are required to take a weld test at our corporate headquarters located in Irving, TX. You will need a welding hood, heavy welding gloves, long sleeves, welding pliers, and a chipping hammer. Our Pre-Employment Weld Test is a plate MIG test using 1/16″ (0.062″) flux-core wire. You will be required to run beads in both the flat and up-hill positions.

Requirements:
- Must pass criminal background check and pre-employment drug screening.
- Follow all safety rules, regulations and procedures as set forth by Company policy.
- A proven safety record and take preventative measures to ensure a safe work environment.
- Excellent attendance and be reliable/dependable.
- Capability of lifting up to 50 pounds.
- Availability to work reasonable amounts of overtime if required.
- Capability to perform hands-on equipment maintenance.
- Ability to manage priorities with minimal guidance.
- Ability to analyze and prioritize information to make appropriate recommendations.
- Demonstrate a positive, upbeat attitude and energy level towards teammates and peers.
- Must have a TEAM PLAYER attitude and work well with co-workers.
