Overview

Mactech Offshore Cutting and Machining Technicians must be mechanically skilled. To troubleshoot problems with mechanical, electrical, hydraulic, and diesel engine systems, logical thinking is required. You’ll be in charge of operating our cutting and machining tools in line with our operating protocols, as well as cleaning, maintaining, and repairing our extensive equipment. Our equipment includes drills, flange facers, boring bars, and pipe beveling machines for on-site machining, as well as underwater cutting tools like diamond wire saws and support equipment including hydraulic power supply, control panels, hose reels, and umbilicals.

Essential Job Functions (which include but are not limited to):

Operation of the Workshop:
Assist with shipping and receiving needs by loading and unloading vehicles with forklifts or an overhead crane, as well as checking in shipments against a master list.

Equipment staging for storage, maintenance, or shipment in defined places

Using a pressure washer or parts washer, as well as other cleaning agents, clean equipment in the wash bay.

Perform equipment maintenance and repairs to a high standard of quality and accuracy as instructed by the Operations Manager or Workshop Operations Supervisor.

To ensure that our quality control and record-keeping standards are met, we test equipment before and after maintenance.

Taking inventory of parts and equipment to fulfill client orders and requirements

Fabricating or repairing equipment with tools and equipment such as welders, plasma cutters, torches, band saws, lathes, and mills

Offshore and On-Site Work:
Operate Mactech Offshore equipment in a range of contexts, including offshore platforms, floating boats, building sites, and more, according to our operating procedures.

Mactech Offshore equipment should be maintained in accordance with our maintenance policies and industry best practices.

Troubleshoot any difficulties that may emerge and make repairs as soon as possible and to a high standard.

To understand and plan for operations, communicate with our customers’ project leads.

At the start of each shift, hold toolbox talks, conduct risk assessments, and complete JSAs.

While on location, accurately track and report daily operating costs and use.

Keep detailed records of operations and the dates and times of incidents that occur during operations.

Physical Exertions:
Employees will regularly be expected to bend, squat, kneel, stoop, reach, twist, climb, spin, and crawl in order to stand, walk, sit, use hands to grip, hold or feel objects and instruments.

Regular lifting or moving of 50 pounds or less, frequent lifting or moving of 100 pounds or less, and occasionally lifting or moving of 100 pounds or more will be required due to lifting and or movement constraints.

Position Type and Work Hours Expected:
This is a full-time job opportunity.

Monday through Friday, 8 a.m. to 4:30 p.m. are the working days and hours when in the shop.

Working onsite may require you to work 12+ hour shifts for 7 days a week for several weeks at a time.

As needed, working overtime.

Working Conditions:
Working with, in, or near loud noises, chemicals, vibrations, hot/humid, cold, and other exterior weather situations.

Travel:
When working onsite, this role is expected to travel 50% to 60% of the time.

Overnight travel is also expected on a regular basis.

Mactech specifies both domestic and international requirements.

Education and experience are required.

A high school diploma or its equivalent is required.

In a similar capacity, previous experience and technical expertise are required.

Additional Eligibility Requirements:
A valid driver’s license or state-issued photo ID is required.

Must not have committed any felonies in the previous seven years and must not be on any domestic or foreign watch lists.

Fit for duty physicals, background checks, and drug and alcohol testing procedures must all be completed and passed.
