Oil Pan Welder

Your Skills

Welding of oil pans to the escalator truss.

Read work order to determine production needs.

Level truss by installing shims on the four corners and take dimensional checks; make corrections if needed.

Weld oil pans onto truss to install the oil pans.

Weld lateral cladding, drywall brackets, or soffitt channel if needed.

Paint oil pans using roller to give oil pans a finished look.

Put feet on truss to stabilize.

Attach braces to be used as a support system for truss.

Flip truss using overhead cranes.

Weld cross members, oil pan supports and other components to complete truss.

Grind critical welds flush and smooth

Drill and tap all holes required per drawing; clean out all debris in truss.

Complete all SAP inventory transactions; complete all paperwork as necessary

Perform all tasks as necessary; assist in other areas as needed.

Use crane to flip truss over and deliver to next area to allow production process to continue.

Other duties as assigned. Cross train for all roles in Weld department as needed.

Your Experience

Education/Experience:
High School Diploma or Equivalent

Language Ability:
Blueprint reading and interpretation, AWS/CWB welding certifications, Measurement knowledge – Good communication skills, Organizational skills, teaming skills

Reasoning Ability:
Ability to read and understand required documents- Good communication skills

Computer Skills:
Basic computer skills, SAP experience a plus

Certificates and Licenses:
AWS/CWB welding certifications a plus.

The performance of this position requires exposure to the manufacturing areas. The performance also requires the use of personal protective equipment such as safety glasses with side shields, safety shoes, and possible hearing protection. The noise level in the work environment is usually moderate.

This work area requires the uses of crane to flip truss over and deliver to next area to allow production process to continue.

The employee is frequently required to stand; walk primarily on a level surface; sit, use hands and arms to lift and reach above shoulder heights, below the waist or lift as required to store materials. Proper lifting techniques, Standing, Walking, Lifting, Carrying, Pushing, Pulling, Climbing, Balancing, Bending, Kneeling, Crouching, Reaching and Handling

are requirements of this position. The employee must occasionally lift and/or move up to 50 pounds.
