Responsibilities:

  • Read and interpret detailed construction drawings, blueprints, and specifications to understand the scope of work.
  • Perform layout and positioning of steel components, ensuring accurate alignment and adherence to project requirements.
  • Install structural steel members, including columns, beams, braces, and trusses, using appropriate tools and equipment.
  • Fabricate and install steel connections, ensuring proper fit and secure fastening.
  • Collaborate with project managers, engineers, and other trades to coordinate installation activities and resolve any issues that may arise.
  • Operate and maintain equipment, such as cranes, hoists, and forklifts, in a safe and efficient manner.
  • Ensure compliance with safety regulations and practices, promoting a safe working environment for yourself and your team.
  • Conduct quality inspections of installed steel components to ensure compliance with industry standards and project specifications.
  • Communicate effectively with team members, providing updates on progress, challenges, and potential solutions.

Requirements:

  • Previous experience as a Structural Steel Installer in the construction industry.
  • Strong knowledge of steel installation techniques, including welding, bolting, and rigging.
  • Proficiency in reading and interpreting construction drawings, blueprints, and specifications.
  • Familiarity with various tools and equipment used in steel installation.
  • Ability to work at heights and in various weather conditions.
  • Strong physical stamina and the ability to lift heavy objects.
  • Excellent problem-solving skills and attention to detail.
  • Strong communication and teamwork abilities.
  • Relevant certifications or training in steel installation (e.g., OSHA 10, AWS certification) is a plus.
